AWSRG Inc. was formed  in October 1997. Current membership includes  individuals spread over all states in Australia, as well as some other countries with members specialising in birds, frogs, insects and mammals.

AWSRG Inc. is dedicated to the sound recording and study of Australian wildlife. A journal called “Audiowings” and a circulating CD is published for members twice a year.
